Although, the two films were both truly enjoyable, I verify that Zeffirellis adaptation of the film was more engaging and captured the go through emotions of Romeo and Juliet better than Luhrmanns. Zeffirellis version of Romeo and Juliet was portrayed a lustrous image of Shakespeares original text. Director Zeffirelli went against the regular work of using well-known actors in the lead roles.
